Learning Through COVID-19!
Funded May 28, 2020Because of your generous donations, my students and their families have one less thing to worry about in September. They have all the supplies they need for a productive and fun year! It may be in the classroom, at home or both, but however the learning occurs, the supplies are greatly needed.
Covid-19 has had a huge negative financial impact on the families in the community that I teach in. Not only are you saving them much needed money, you are also saving them a trip to different stores therefore reducing their risk of contracting covid-19.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful and generous donation to my project.”

Funded Nov 22, 2019Firstly, thank you so much for funding my project. My library was quickly dwindling and especially needed books of the reading level that was included in this project. This particular reading level is really where you instill the love of reading and set the children up to become avid readers for the rest of their lives! Another way the books have helped is that they're about our current lives. I've had to sift through the classroom library and remove books that contain things like a public telephone and other such things that my second graders have never come across!
Please relish in the fact that you have made 26 second graders and one teacher very happy and grateful to you.”

An Organized Classroom Makes For Great Learning!
Funded Mar 27, 2018Thank you so much for the privacy boards. They really help students stay on task and focus on their work! The students have to take many different assessments that require their full concentration! These boards are are wonderful addition to the classroom. The white board and eraser center is a great addition to our math center. We also occasionally use it for word work. Thanks to your generosity, the students have more of the materials they need to be successful! We are off to a great start to the school year!”

This classroom project was brought to life by Ripple.Seasonal Watercolors!
Funded Mar 14, 2016I love opening the Donors Choose boxes with the students. We get right to work and begin to use the supplies straight away! Our first project was to paint a picture using our monthly vocabulary words. We began be reviewing the vocabulary words. Students had a sheet to work with. We then discussed possible paintings that we could paint. I'm always so impressed by the children's imagination! Finally, the students begin their masterpiece. The paintings come out so much more colorful when using the watercolor paper. The students share their work with each other as we all take a "Gallery Walk" in our classroom. The students love this activity and truly learn new vocabulary words that I then see in their writing. Of course, they also learn so much about being creative. So thank you so much for funding our project!”

Funded Oct 29, 2015Once again, thank you so much for donating the landform materials to our classroom. My students were so excited the day the supplies landed! We learned about the worlds landforms and their characteristics in social studies. When I informed the student that they were actually going to make their very own landform, they were ecstatic!! They chose a partner to work with, decided on a landform to make as well as any additional materials that they wanted to use. They planned it together and then built the landform on a plastic tray. After that, they wrote about their landform and described how it was different from other landforms.
If you ask my student today anything about landforms, they will be able to tell you different landform as well as describe different landforms. This is directly because you contributed to their educational experience! So again, thank you so much. Both myself and my students truly appreciate it.”
