  • Meeting Social Emotional Needs Without the Germs

    Funded Aug 11, 2020

When I first saw that people had given to my project, I was so grateful. My students come from low-income families where the basic needs are the most important items they need. By donating to my students, you have given them the opportunity to stress less about sharing items during this time, as well as the financial concerns of having to purchase all these items on their own. Your donation helps the students become more successful with their academic, social, and emotional needs that they will care for them for the rest of their lives.

Thank you so much for making this project possible for my thriving students. When I received the materials I was so overwhelmed with how generous donors like you are. I wanted to dig in right away. Since we are in a pandemic I waited until everything came in at once so that I could wipe everything down! Once I did that, I was so excited to put together everything for each student. It was so relieving to know that the students would have their own materials for a safe return to school.

As a district, we have yet to return to school, but the students I have been able to share the materials with have been so grateful for the opportunity to have learning materials at home. When it is safe to return or to deliver the materials to all my students, I know they will be so happy and grateful to be able to have their own learning materials. They will be able to keep them as their own as well as they will be able to use the cleaning supplies to stay healthy and safe. As we transition back to hybrid or full return learning everything will need to be cleaned constantly, so having the supplies for myself and the students to be able to access will keep everyone as safe as possible.

My students will be SO excited to use the sensory items that my project included as a new way to cope with such a transition to their new normal. The books and sensory items allow the students individuality to their learning. Every student will be able to have items in their bins that are just for them! The students will also store their belongings on shelves after being cleaned to keep them away from their peers from other classrooms. Thank you so much for making all of this possible!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Ruell

  • Education at Our Finger Tips!

    Funded Nov 26, 2019

Thank you so much for all of your generous donations. My students were able to utilize all of the materials that you provided for them. These iPads allow students access curriculum information within the classroom. They are able to gain knowledge in a different way that could allow them to understand it better through the tips of their fingers. The devices allow students to use a multi-sensory tool to help their brains learn, understand and grow. iPads within the classroom have allowed students to utilize educational apps during mental breaks without the students realizing they are still learning. The fun materials also allow them to collaborate their learning together and discuss it. Thank you for everything you provided them with to advance their learning!”

  • Reading Is Fun!

    Funded Jan 8, 2020

Thank you so much for all of your generous donations. My students were able to utilize all of the materials that you provided for them. The students use their noise canceling headphones to focus during all their assessments! Using the headphones during reading allows the students to listen to a passage and only worry about what the reading is about. They also enjoy using the gel pads to solve simple addition and subtraction problems. As their teacher I appreciate being able to provide them with materials to learn that make them feel like they are successful. The fun materials also allow them to collaborate their learning together and discuss what they received for an answer and explain how they got it. Thank you for everything you provided them with to advance their learning!”

  • Making Learning Fun

    Funded Mar 9, 2019

Thank you so much for all of your generous donations. My students were able to utilize all of the materials that you provided for them. The students use their space balance ball to focus during reading and math learning! They also enjoy the learning games on Fridays. As their teacher I appreciate being able to provide them with materials to learn that do not make them feel like they are "working". The games also allow them to collaborate their learning together and discuss what they received for an answer and explain how they got it. Thank you for everything you provided them with to advance their learning!”

  • Wiggling My Way to a Focusing Education!

    Funded Oct 26, 2018

Thank you so much for allowing my students a more diverse way of learning through blocks, and white boards! They have allowed my to utilize a more individualized way of learning for each of my students. My students use their seat cushions to help them stay focused, as well as move freely within their seats! Our yoga ball chair is a huge hit and incentive for the students to gain time using it during their time with me! The students are so appreciative of the learning opportunities you have donated to them and we cannot thank you enough for your generosity!”

My 3rd grade students come from low income homes where the basic needs are the number one priority, and Chromebooks and iPads are something most of them could only dream of having. Having these will allow our students to have the power of educational growth that is right at their finger tips through appropriate technology. This year in 3rd grade they will be required to take MCAS, a standardized test that is given on a computer. Having these Chromebooks and iPads will allow our diverse learners to focus their individual needs throughout the year, and also gain experience on using the computer correctly. Therefore, when they are taking the MCAS test they will be able to type their responses more accurately because of the familiarity of learning on the computer as well as in the classroom. At our school we are changing the way our students view education, and having these will allow diverse learners growth in ways they will look back on to be proud of themselves. Our students deserve a 21st century education regardless of their socioeconomic status.
