  • Re-Up on Paint Markers

    Funded Dec 4, 2024

My students have been knocking it out! We've been working hard to cover every bit of available space in my hallway. The murals are looking fantastic!

We used acrylic paint for the large areas of color and the paint markers to enhance definition. The students are very proud of their accomplishments. Thank you so much for funding this project.

Many of the artists haven't worked on large-scale projects before. This has been a great opportunity to boost their confidence. On behalf of myself and my students, thank you for your generosity!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. DeLucia

  • Re-up on Paint Markers

    Funded Aug 15, 2023

Thank you so much for your generosity. For many of my students, paint markers are the medium of choice. They can get the effect of paint with the controllability of markers.

They were so excited to see a new batch of supplies! They especially love the florescent colors and the wide tip black markers.

Many of my students are interested in street art. I have a wall at the school dedicated for their tags. They love the idea of having their own wall and permission to do their own thing. They also use the markers to write their tag on stickers.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. DeLucia

  • Let's Print!

    Funded Oct 26, 2022

Thank you so much for coming through with these materials! I specifically had this project in mind as an enrichment opportunity for my 8th grade art majors. Several students had expressed interest in printmaking and the materials I received made for an easy introduction. The transparent lino blocks allowed them to simply trace the image before cutting it out and the silicone material made cutting easy. They were able to make several prints and pass them out to their friends. On behalf of myself and my students, thank you so much for your generosity!”

  • Re-Up on Paint Markers

    Funded Aug 12, 2021

Thank you so much for your generosity. For many of my students, paint markers are the medium of choice. They can get the effect of paint with the controllability of markers.

They were so excited to see a new batch of paint markers! I included fine tip markers with my order so they could outline their work for better detail.

  • Needed Accessories for Video Production

    Funded Dec 1, 2020

Thank you so much for your generosity. Many of you know that our school has moved to remote learning during the height of the pandemic. Students are unable to learn in a traditional setting and teachers are relying on technology to reach the students virtually.

After my last project was funded, I realized I needed a few accessories in order to get everything up and running. Sd cards for extended storage, a tripod for my camera and bluetooth enabled earbuds (the ipad doesn't have a headphone jack).

    This project meeted my needs.

Again, thank you for your help.”

  • Virtual Art Lessons

    Funded Aug 31, 2020

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your generosity!

The much needed accessories for my iPad Pro have provided proper lighting and sound for my video tutorials. Although I'm new to the iPad (I'm more of a P.C. guy), I'm already blown away by the drawing capabilities. The Apple pencil is awesome!

I know that not every student has access to an iPad or iPhone for digital art creation but they all seem to enjoy learning about digital art. Being able to teach a new medium is refreshing for me and exciting for the students in a virtual environment.”

  • HD Instructional Videos for Virtual Learners!

    Funded Aug 31, 2020

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your generosity! The iPad Pro has enabled me to capture high quality video tutorials.

The much needed accessories have provided proper lighting and sound and although I'm still waist deep in the learning curve (I'm more of a PC guy), my students are happy to help.

  • High Tech for Highly Motivated Kids

    Funded Aug 13, 2019

Thank you once again for funding this project. I absolutely HAD to have this document camera. As you can see from the photos, I was working with a whiteboard and butcher paper. The whiteboard was fine for writing assignments, reminders, etc but it was ineffective for demonstrating drawing techniques. Try shading with a dry erase marker... I could use pencil and chalk pastel on the butcher paper but students in the back of the class couldn't see what I was doing, even with large paper. This document camera gives every one of my students equal opportunity to learn. It also makes teaching a whole lot easier so again, on behalf of myself and my students, we thank you!”

  • Help Refresh the Supply!

    Funded Mar 23, 2019

My students are enjoying the fresh batch of art supplies. By now, they understand how to compose a work of art and how to use the materials. Now that we're reaching the end of the school year, they're enjoying the freedom to create whatever they want, using what they've learned. Any time they want to experiment or try out a new medium, I'm able to give them what they need thanks to you and your generosity. I see so much potential in each and every one of them. The skills they learn here will help them in many other areas of their lives. Thank you so much!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. DeLucia

So far, we've been learning the foundations; the building blocks of art such as The Elements of Art, Principles of Design, basic color theory and how to draw what we see. Pencil, marker and paper are serving us well ...so far. Several students have asked when they can start painting but I don't have any canvases. Watercolor paper is fine for ...well, watercolor but I really want to see what they can do with acrylic (which I have). I'm also requesting paint markers (black and white). I've used paint markers in my own work for many years so I know what they can do. They're a good half way point between markers and paint so for the kids who have never held a brush, they can sort of warm up with paint markers, getting the basic outline complete and then go back in with real paint. The materials requested will give each student the opportunity to create two paintings this year.
