  • Drum Line Expansion

    The drum line at Hialeah-Miami Lakes Senior High has expanded! The tenor section is now bigger and has impacted the sound for the better. It is truly amazing what people can do to help the classroom.

    The students were excited when the materials got to the classroom. The were stoked to use them and finally have instruments to participate in the ensemble!

    We will continue to expand all instrumental ensembles and have more students learn how to play in order to expand the music program at the school. We are truly blessed to have this opportunity happen to our school.”

  • Orchestra Creation Project

    The Students here at Hialeah-Miami Lakes Senior High are now learning how to play orchestral instruments. Is Expanding the Music Program at HML. The students are very excited and this has attracted many students to the program. We look forward to grow this small ensemble and we thank you for all the help that Donors Choose provided to make this possible. I cannot believe that this is actually happening at HML.   • HML Tech Lab

    The technology greatly impacted the learning environment by allowing students access to their music library and music programs. We used the computer the 2018 marching show and it allowed us to enhance the show with music programs. The students we're very excited about the new computer for the band program.

    The most exciting thing to the students was the opportunity to create voice overs on garage band for the 2018 marching show. This allows to to customize back tracks for the show which won us 1st place in competition in general effect.

    Students were also able to compose pieces in the jazz band.

    There were students who's learning curve went up while using this technology in the class room. On of the sunshine state standards is to incorporate new technology in the classroom. With this new computer, we have don so and have been able to give the students a chance to experience new music as well.”

My project will consist of a music laboratory computer for the students in the classroom. Right now we have a computer that is not up to date and are in dire need of an upgrade. Our music notation software will no longer work on the computer. This is crucial to the music ensemble in the classroom and for learning gamines are diminished. With this new computer, I will be able to access our digital music library to pass out music for all students, give them individual assignments to help them learn music theory skills, and access all programs related to music notation.

About my class
