An Engaging and Interactive Classroom by Implementing Technology
Funded Oct 1, 2020I wanted to start by thanking you all for your generosity and willingness to help me fund my project. I believe that as students prepare for life after High-School, being technologically proficient is a must skill all students should possess. Many of my students use technology for social purposes, however, they struggle when it comes to using technology to complete assignments or engage in online discussions.
As we continue to teach and learn virtually, it is imperative that our students are able to use all the necessary tools at their disposal in order to be successful. This also applies to all the teachers that work with their students everyday. The touch screen technology of this HP laptop has made it much easier for me to manipulate equations, draw graphs, write down steps for a problem, etc. Us teachers are always running out of time during class, unable to accomplish all we wanted to cover for that lesson. With the help of this PC I am able to spend more time engaging my students and creating opportunities for them to display their knowledge then on slowly writing or drawing an equation with the pen tool.
Even though I am a math teacher, I have implemented technology in my classroom by having students complete some math problems on computers in order to better prepare them for state exams. Last year it was clear to me that majority of my students struggled with writing equations on a computer or even completing something as simple as explaining their answer choices using appropriate mathematical vocabulary. Through your generous donations I was able to acquire this HP laptop and can use it to help my students become more technology proficient. I can create a technology workstation and have my students practice many of these skills that are needed to be successful both inside and outside of school.
In conclusion, my students and I are grateful to you all for helping us complete this project. This HP laptop has been very beneficial in our learning and has allowed us to spend more time on teaching and learning then on other tasks. By helping my students become more technology proficient, we are promoting 21st century skills that my students will need to master no matter what field they choose to excel in.”

Funded Sep 18, 2020I wanted to start by thanking you all for your generosity and willingness to help me fund my project. The use of technology has become a norm for our High School students and having most up to date technology for both teachers and students is crucial. Your generous donations have helped bridge that gap by allowing my students and I to use Dell Monitor in our everyday learning.
As we continue to teach our students through a virtual learning model it is imperative that both students and instructors are technologically proficient in order to maximize efficiency and outcome. It became more and more obvious that what I was using was not up to date when I realized how much time I was wasting on fixing technology issues instead of helping my students. With your generous donations I was able to get a Dell Monitor, that went with the Desktop that you also had donated generously, which helped with smoother transitions between different platforms. It helped me a lot since I was able to see more clearly and had a better idea of what students were writing.
In conclusion, my students and I are grateful to you all for helping us complete this project. By helping me purchase the Dell Monitor you have allowed us to focus more on learning and taking part in engaging activities then on fixing technology issues. I can better prepare my students for 21st century life skills mainly due to your generous donation.”

Funded Sep 16, 2020I wanted to start by thanking you all for your generosity and willingness to help me fund my project. I believe that as students prepare for life after High-School, being technologically proficient is a must skill all students should possess. Many of my students use technology for social purposes, however, they struggle when it comes to using technology to complete assignments or engage in online discussions. It is even more difficult to deliver online instruction with a device that is not up to date or unable to run smoothly during back to back classes.
As we continue to teach our students through a virtual learning model it is imperative that both students and instructors are technologically proficient in order to maximize efficiency and outcome. By helping me purchase a Dell Inspiron Desktop I am able to focus more on teaching my students then on struggling with my computer shutting down or freezing up. My students can already see the difference since beginning of September. I am not freezing as much or my sharing capabilities are much faster then they used to be. I am able to show videos without too many lags which helps since we want to maximize our learning time with our students and make sure they do not fall behind.
In conclusion, my students and I are grateful to you all for helping us complete this project. By helping me purchase the Dell Inspiron Desktop you have allowed us to focus more on learning and taking part in engaging activities then on fixing technology issues. I can better prepare my students for 21st century life skills mainly due to your generous donation.”

Funded Sep 14, 2018I wanted to start by thanking you for the donations. With the batteries my students are able to use the calculators in order to strengthen their understanding of many Algebraic concepts.
In Algebra we focus on visual representations of various types of functions, linear, exponential,or quadratic, by graphing them by hand and by calculators. Using a calculator to visually see how the graphs behave and the transformations that occur strengthen student understanding of how to graph these types of functions.
Many of my students are visual learners and thus by using a graphing calculator to demonstrate the behavior of these types of functions can be quite helpful to those that are struggling with graphing functions.”
