  • High School Composting Project

    Funded Nov 17, 2022

We want to thank you so much for your generosity. I can't begin to tell you what it means for our students to have the your support! They work so hard in the garden, with fundraising, but bake sales and recycling can only raise a small portion of the funds that we need to provide our school with native plants, garden tools, recycling bins, and materials to help our students make an impact on our community and the greater world. Again, thank you, so much, our campus and our club of volunteers are immensely grateful for your donation and generosity!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Smith

  • BRAAAAAINSSSS (Ewwww)

    Funded Aug 14, 2019

Thank you all for your wonderful donations to fund the purchase of dissection specimens for our ninth grade biology class! With your help, students will have the chance to learn about the human brain including how it functions, how to maintain its health, and many other reasons that it is so important. We may even inspire future brain surgeons!”

    Mr. Smith

Due to the similarities between the sheep and human brain, a sheep brain dissection can be an extremely positive learning experience. These sheep brains have some important structures that are important for future biologists to see and dissect such as: pituitary and hypothalamus glands, protective dura mater tissue, distinct regions such as the cerebrum, cerebellum, and brain stem. The lessons that students get from this lesson include lab planning, recording results, identifying anatomical structures, and completing a lab report. Additionally, many students feel a sense of personal growth in successfully completing an activity about which they may have felt some initial squeamish reservations!
