  • We Are Living in a Material World

    Funded Dec 31, 2022

I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for investing in my students. I think the chalkboard door may just be their favorite. It is a place for me to write reminders to them as they leave my room, but also a place to tell them who they are (special, important, strong, etc.). The door mats may be MY favorite. I try to keep my classroom nice for them, and something as simple as a door mat helps to keep the floors looking so nice. Besides the copy paper, which helps me copy whatever resources a student may need, I think the most used resource you helped to provide to my class is the colored pencils. Previously I had a tub of random broken colored pencils that the students had to dig through. Having a nice set of colored pencils helps them to know that their work matters.

Thank you again so much. You help my students to know that their education matters (and that they do too).”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Gabriel

  • Back to the Basics

    Funded Aug 19, 2022

Thank you so much for supporting my students and my classroom. I know paper and toner aren't super exciting, but they mean more resources for my students. School budgets are tighter than ever and there is a push for learning to be digital. The students overwhelmingly want to hold books and worksheets in their hands. They want to write on their tests and eliminate answer.

Each time a student comes to me to print out a resource for them, or I find a resource to help show a concept or practice a new skill it deepens the learning of that student. Thank you for helping my students know their education matters.”

  • Great Start to the New Year

    Funded Jul 12, 2021

Thank you so much for contributing to the success of my classes. As you probably know, classroom budgets are tight, so being able to print and copy any resource that my students need helps them (and me) so much. This school year started off with our school copier being down for the first two weeks of school. Having enough paper and toner to print and copy what my classes needed was a game changer.

When students know that someone believes enough in them to donate to their education, they begin to believe in themselves. Your support of these students is felt every day.”

  • Clean Clean Clean Clean, Everybody's Got To Clean

    Funded Dec 2, 2020

Thank you so much for your support of my classes. This has been a very different year with students jumping between digital and in person learning, and you have made it so much easier.

The paper towels are great! Students can spray down their desks and just grab a paper towel (they pop up) to wipe it down. They can also use to sanitize laptops, etc. in between uses. The tissues are also great just to make extra sure that we aren't spreading germs.

We are so appreciative of you for thinking of us.”

  • Gonna Wash Those Germs Right Out of My Room!

    Funded Jul 24, 2020

Thank you so much for supporting my classroom. We all know that teaching is different this year because of Covid-19 and some students are scared. Having the UV lamp, the UV air purifier and will help to alleviate a lot of concerns the students may have.

Because students have different ways of learning. I love to give my students as many resources as possible. The paper you helped to provide will allow me to make copies of any resources that my students may need as well as paper-based assignments for those distance learners who work better on paper.

Thank you so much for all of your support.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Gabriel

  • A Cleaner Classroom

    Funded Mar 25, 2020

Thank you so much for your donation to help keep my classroom "cleaner" for my students. Some of the materials came in before we had to go digital during quarantine. Your donation allowed my students to use Clorox wipes to clean their desks and phones at the beginning of each class, and to wipe down "community" passes and pens.

Because of Covid, not all of the materials were available, but I was able to switch out those materials for a scanner. Not all students have access to upload their work, so I now have a scanner so my students can upload work weekly. If we have to shut down again, the scanner will be moved to a central location so students who pick up work packets can use it to upload their work.

Thank you again for your help during this difficult time.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Gabriel

  • (Phone) Jailhouse Rock

    Funded Mar 25, 2020

Thank you so much for your donation to my classroom. This project gives the students a place to safely store their phones during class. As we know electronics help us in our everyday life, but they also distract us. I wanted to have a place for my students to put their devices but also wanted to make sure they can charge their devices as well.

With Covid a concern now, I have also written a grant for a UV light that I can place next to the "phone jail" so that students can wave their phone next to it to disinfect their phones.

The students may not love turning in their phones, but they very much appreciate the change to charge their phone and to know it is safe.

    Thank you so much!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Gabriel

  • School Wide Paper Need - for Students without Internet

    Funded Apr 3, 2020

Thank you so much for supporting, not just my classroom but our school in having enough paper to distribute paper packets to any student who needed or wanted to do their "quarantine" school work paper based.

As you know moving to a digital classroom with a weeks' notice wasn't easy for the school, but for some students, it was impossible. You helped us keep our students learning during an extremely difficult time and we appreciate it so much.

We had tables set up for students to come in (socially distanced) and pick up anything they need from each of their 6 classes. They were so relieved to have this available to them.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Gabriel

  • Knitting into the New Year

    Funded Dec 31, 2019

Thank you so much for donating to this project. This is not only affecting my students, but students from other classes are excited to learn how to knit. We have our first meeting this Friday to discuss how often we will meet and any projects they would like to work on (we have been casually talking about knitting nest for displaced birds due to the fires in Australia.

The best part of this project is it belongs to the students. They can use the skills to de-stress, to make gifts, to give to the community........however, they choose.

Thank you for believing in and investing in my students. :-D”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Gabriel

Students learn in different ways. Some by hearing, some by seeing or reading, but some students need to work with their hands to learn. The trend is to go digital, but we are finding that many students learn better when they can hold a copy of what they are learning in their hand and write directly on it. I want to be able to locate resources and have them to hand out to my students so that they can mark them up and learn in their own style. My students tend to be more successful when they can hold on to a resource and make it their own. The printer/copy paper and toner will allow me to pull resources for entire classes or even individual students. The pencils are to make sure that each student has something to write with on these resources.
