I am a firm believer that a carpenter is only as good as his tools. In math class our tool is our calculator. Being able to use a graphing calculator is a necessary skill and it is part of the Common Core state standards. At my school it is recommended that students purchase a graphing calculator during their freshmen year and they will be able to use it all four years. Not all students are capable of spending a significant amount of money on a graphing calculator. I need calculators that I can keep in the classroom and make available to students that are not capable of purchasing their own calculator.
