The SLA printers requested are 3D printers that can print very tiny objects that my students design in their computer 3D CAD software. After they design a 3D digital model, they print very detailed models that are not achievable with a standard FDM 3D printer (PLA plastic). The students will design a ring or necklace that has universal meaning, 3D print them using Fine resolution SLA printer, and Cast it out of Metal. Students in the past have made RIP rings and rings for their loved ones that communicate the students journey. This project encourages them to take or CTE courses (Vocational) that leverage a STEAM format. The previous rings made in the past were made with PLA plastic and this year I want the students to go home with a project that will last a lifetime after we cast the molds in metal.
