  • HELP! We're in a PICKLE Without a Net!

    Funded Feb 27, 2025

I would just like to take the opportunity to thank each and every one of you who so generously donated to our, "Help, We're in a Pickle Without a Net!" portable pickleball net and paddles project! From the moment I opened up the box, my students were smiling from ear to ear and cheering with elation that this project got fully funded and their pickleball dreams have come to life!

Together, I let the kids work together to following the directions and assemble our hew net. It was a rich learning experience just following the directions and working as a team. Once the net was all assembled, we were able to start learning the official rules of pickleball, what the kitchen is all about, and best dink and slam strategies!

Wonderful generous donors, please know that in donating to this project you have touched and shaped the lives of 24 children who are sure to be our future PPA tour participants! Look our Ben Johns and Anna Leigh Waters, here they come!

From the bottoms of our hearts and with a million thanks!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Williams

I would just like to take the opportunity to thank each and every one of you who so generously donated to our, "Future Robotics Teammates Unite!" mBots project! From the moment I opened up the box, my students were smiling from ear to ear and cheering with elation that this project got fully funded and their robot engineering dreams have come to life!

Together, the kids collaboratively worked in teams to assemble these awesome mBots. It was a rich learning experience just following the directions and working as a team. Once the mBots were all assembled, we learned about robotic machinery and electronic parts, the fundamentals of block-based programming, how to use logical thinking and design skills to avoid obstacles.

Wonderful generous donors, please know that in donating to this project you have touched and shaped the lives of 24 children who are sure to be our future engineers and technology masters!

From the bottoms of our hearts and with a million thanks!”

  • Show What You Know!

    Funded Apr 6, 2023

We were so excited to get our Magna Doodle boards from this project? We use these and every subject from spelling to comprehension to math. And math students are asked to show their work and explain their thinking. And reading comprehension we are working on noticing what we've read in context and making inferences about what we've read. This teaching tool keeps all kids engaged and learning! They allow me as a teacher to have a type of instant on demand assessment so that I can see who is understanding concepts and who needs more support in a small group setting. Thank you X a million! You donors are amazing!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Williams

  • Ready, Sit, Learn!

    Funded Mar 19, 2023

On behalf of myself and all of the kids in room 25 I just want to thank you for your incredibly generous donations to our. "Ready, Sit, Learn," project! In the past we have had difficulty fitting all of our books in our desk. Your donations will help us stay organized with beautiful chair packs to hold our books and supplies. Every day, we work in small-groups on reading and math intervention. The current classroom chairs do not allow us all to fit around the small-group table comfortably together. Our small-group stools will enable us to finally fit comfortably at the side table so that we can practice our math and reading comprehension skills. These much needed supplies and furniture have created a more welcoming, neat, and over-all more beautiful classroom environment!

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! 😍”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Williams

  • We Love Art...But Need Supplies

    Funded Jan 27, 2023

Thank you so much for your incredibly generous donations! The kids have been doing research and learning about important and impactful artists that have left their beautiful contributions to our world. So far students have studied the works of Henri Matisse with his innovative "paper cuts," and the gorgeous floral and natural water-color works of Georgia O'keefe. After studying these artists lives, students tried their hand at their own paper-cut and water-color creations and I have uploaded some of their incredible creations to share with YOU, our beloved donors! The next artist we will be studying is Jackson Pollock. All of their creations will go into a beautiful art portfolio that they will create using the construction paper and oil pastels to decorate.

Soon we plan on using the clay to make pinch-pots and firing those in our school kiln. The kids can't wait to try their hand at sculpture and fire these using the wonderful glaze colors that were donated.

Your donations have truly brought art to life for the kids in room 25 and we thank you from the bottoms of our hearts! ❤”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Williams

  • We're in a Pickle!

    Funded Jan 28, 2023

Thank you so much for your incredibly generous donations! The kids have been enjoying learning how to play pickleball and enjoying their new net on wheels!

I have uploaded some of their exciting photos to share with YOU, our beloved donors! Out next goal is to get the court professionally painted, as we have been chalking or taping the court lines, but the chalk washes away in the rain and the tape eventually comes up. So, I have applied for a grant to get this done! In the meantime, we will just keep practicing our hand-eye pickleball skills, and enjoying the teamwork, exercise, and sportmanship that pickleball brings!

Your donations have truly got us out of our "pickle" and into pickleball! So from me and all of the kids in room 25, we thank you from the bottoms of our hearts! ❤”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Williams

Our school is an LAUSD high-achieving Title 1 School, which means more than half of our student population is below the poverty line. Funding this project will give each student in our class equal access to our rigorous S.T.E.A.M. curriculum. Our students use IPads for research, formative assessments, coding, a variety of class projects. We really need our students to have charged iPads, to use daily in the classroom for learning. The students are eager beavers when it comes to using technology in the classroom, including Code.org, making iMovies, and using academic websites to further acquire much needed skills. The iPads must be secured, charged, and scored in our classrooms, so that they are available to students each day.
