The Chromebooks will be used by all of my 10th, 11th, and 12th grade IB students. Students enrolled in our 10th grade International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program (IB MYP), are dedicated to learn United States History from multiple perspectives. Students in this course understand they must be committed to advancing their reading, reflecting, writing skills, and civic participation to ensure they are prepared to then take the 2-year, college level, IB Full Diploma (IB DP) Global Politics course. Global Politics is a new IB course (and we are one of the first schools in our district to offer it) and should be technology-based providing students with the skills and ability to critically analyze global issues from various perspectives in the 21st century. Students are expected to create Google Site pages, complete assignments in the Google Classroom, and keep online portfolios of their learning experiences. Through these online assignments and assessments, students will demonstrate they understand how to learn and analyze information from multiple perspectives, reflect and draw evidence-based conclusions, and then take action in a thoughtful manner pertaining to specific global issues.
