In PreK, children learn through play. While they play, they practice skills. As a teacher, I instruct in whole group and small group lessons to introduce vocabulary, themes, materials, etc. Then I set my classroom up to foster exploration with materials and to encourage interactions with peers. I work alongside my students to scaffold their learning. We have recently been able to purchase a light table to share amongst the 4 PreK and Kindergarten classrooms to enhance STEM, science, math, and literacy skills. The kits in this request will engage students in hands-on learning. The materials can be used in multiple ways, for both small group and individual learning- from building letters to constructing with magnet tiles- the possibilities are almost endless. Our students will really benefit from these materials to help solidify concepts and explore in their learning.
