Cultivating Creative Children

Funded Sep 29, 2022

Thank you for your generous donation. I was able to create a maker-space for students that I see twice per week in the library .The maker-space fosters innovation through hands on experimentation. The students have the opportunity to be creative and apply their own personalize way or strategy to a concept or idea.

I love to hear when my students ask, "are we tinkering today?" or "Today is Monday it is our tinker day." You simply watch as they take their blocks ,straws,Qubits or Legos apart or put them together. It's awesome seeing them not only being creative but working together and talking about what they are creating or have created. I'm making a bridge, a flower, a house or a person. They talk about what they could have done different or what they would design next time. Whether it's a specific task or just free build the excitement and engagement is great.

Thanks again for cultivating creativity in our library!”

With gratitude,

Ms. Williams
