  • Summer Learning

    Funded May 12, 2023

Thank you very much for contributing to my class project for continued learning over the Summer. The students were so surprised and grateful for the workbooks. These are students that have been challenged with learning disabilities and performing below grade level. The fun activities in these books are helping them to keep practicing important reading and writing skills learned throughout the year in fifth grade. They are also being prepared for sixth grade by learning new skills that will be needed.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Rodriguez

  • Tech Tools for Learning

    Funded Sep 16, 2021

Thank you so much for your generous donations that allowed my students to receive their 'Tech Tools for Learning' at the beginning of the school year. They were all very excited to receive a package that was meant for them. You may not see their faces in the pictures but the motions sure express their excitement!

The headsets are used multiple times a day for them to do independent reading, practice their language arts and math skills and to listen to videos for research on for social studies and science work. Along with the headsets are the use of stylus to make it easier for them to select items and to write.

Most importantly, they have their dividers that are used to give them privacy during assessments and independent work. They love them because it makes them feel like they are in their own little clubhouse!”

  • Fun Summertime Learning Books

    Funded May 3, 2021

I would like to graciously thank you for contributing towards our classroom project. This project provided summer learning books for my K,1, and 2 students at the end of June 2021. These books were received with a tremendous amount of excitement by the children, their parents and our staff and administration!

Our students come from one of the lowest, poverty stricken neighborhoods in the Bronx, NYC. Schools nor families have funds to provide the children with the extra resources that can keep them learning over the summer. These summer learning books provided them the additional push needed to keep the motivation to learn drive going when school was not in session.

Thank you again for contributing to my projects and to our school's continued learning. The pictures attached showcase some of the excitement when the items were received. I did hear back from the parents over the summer saying how grateful they were to have the books to help keep their childrens' interest in their education!”

  • Fun Tools for Literacy and Math

    Funded Aug 17, 2020

Thank you very much for your generous donations. Most of the tools have already been put to use in class and remotely. The pictures provided show the items when they arrived and the students were very excited when I showed them to them virtually! As the students transitioned to the classroom they were eager to use them to help them with their learning.

Having fun with math tools has been very important for me to provide my star students. The magnetic dry erase boards, markers, erasers and magnetic numbers allow my students to be able to use their senses of touch, and sight to help with applying their math strategies. The pictures show the students being successful with figuring out multiplication problems.

I am looking forward to continue to use all the tools provided throughout the rest of the school year with more students that will be transitioning back to the classroom. Thank you again for your gracious donations to be able to guide my students with their independent and group learning.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Rodriguez

  • Tools for Teaching and Learning

    Funded Aug 11, 2020

Thank you very kindly for helping me provide a cheerful, soothing and welcoming classroom environment for my special education students. My students were very excited to see the classroom decorated with the baby blue bulletin board paper and soft pastel colored borders and decor. We initially began with online instruction and most of the classroom was shown to the students virtually. When they were allowed to come into the building for hybrid learning, they were very grateful for having a pleasantly, welcoming learning environment.

My students are my shining stars as seen in the picture with the classroom door. Since we had to ensure safety and social distancing, there were only small groups of children present on different days of the week. The pictures highlight students working on their multiplication facts. The students were each given heir own personalized book baggies and also provided with their own set of sensory items to help them cope with any stressful moments in the classroom and at home when learning remotely.

We are all grateful for the tools for learning provided for us. The children will continue to work on various projects in all subjects utilizing them.”

  • A Rug for Readiness

    Funded Nov 22, 2019

I would like to thank you very much for your donation gift towards our new classroom rug. We had a very old rug that was in need of replacing. Our new rug was very well received by the students. They were very excited to have their own individual, colorful spots to sit on.

We use our rug for all our daily instruction. Our students sit on the rug for our mini lessons at the beginning of each period for each subject area. The students listen and respond to questions and hold partner discussions while on the rug. Students also use the rug for individual work, and small group work. Many writing assignments are developed while on the rug. Students also sit on the rug for quiet reading time.

As we progress throughout the rest of the school year, the rug will continue to be our main meeting area, break area, project creating area and instruction and small group discussion area. The very colorful rug added to our goal to make our classroom a very welcoming and motivating room for safe learning.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Rodriguez

  • Personal Seat Storage for All

    Funded Oct 14, 2019

Thank you very much for providing our classroom with seat storage. We are a classroom of 28 students and have 6 tables with storage area for only 4 students per table. That left some students without any seat storage to put their books and supplies. Your donation has helped our students become very organized.

Throughout the day our students need to have quick access to their supplies in order to not delay instruction time. Having their seat storage, the students have been able to spend more time learning and engaging in exciting group work and discussions rather than walking to their cubbies and back to gather supplies needed to work.

When the students saw the package of the donation, they were very excited. It is apparent by how they reacted opening the package and immediately putting them on the seats. As we received new students in the class, we have also been able to provide them with seat storage. Students have been able to create wonderful personal narratives by having immediate access to their writing notebooks and writing tools like pencils and colored pencils. Math workbooks have also been easily accessible for rigorous instruction and engaging group learning to take place.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Rodriguez
