I would like to introduce my students to new innovative technology. I plan on using the Osmo in my classroom to aid in key areas like Social-Emotional, Creative thinking, STEM, and Common Core. I currently have a Dash and a Dot, but need to enhance and extend their lessons and these task cards will assist me in teaching the six fundamental coding concepts of sequences, loops, events, conditions, functions and variables across six coding levels. Along with the Dash and Dot, we will use Osmo Coding Awbie to introduce students to coding. What is unique about this is that the students get to actually manipulate the tiles by hand thus keeping htem focused on the task. We will use the Osmo Hot Wheels to learn about speed and velocity as well as forces of push and pull in our Science. These items all provide hands on activities that encourage more complex thinking and problem solving. My students will be able to work on these independently when I am needed to reinforce or provide intervention to a student. My students will be able to work cooperatively in groups to complete the given tasks that each Osmo lesson provides. My students get tired of using the dry erase boards and call them "old school", they love to get their hands on any and all electronic games associated with their iPads. This will help my students focus and see a project all the through and allows them to get out of their comfort zone and their seats, (to get those extra wiggles out.)
