The use of ukuleles in my class would benefit my students greatly. They are learning rhythm and notes in class, but they have nothing to practice these skills on. It's one thing to tell where a C is on the staff, but it's another thing to make the mental and creative transition to seeing a note and playing it without even thinking what note it is, much like reading a book and how we can just see a word and say it without sounding it out. Music class is also supposed to be fun, and this would make than happen.
