  • Our Basketballs Need a Safe Home

    Funded May 13, 2019

Our students have been highly impacted by having an organized equipment room. Not only has the storage bins allowed our equipment to stay organized but it has allowed students to take on an active role in being responsible for the equipment and materials we use during Physical Education. We now have students assisting with putting equipment back in its proper place and that was only made possible by having the ability to store items properly. From a teachers perspective, it has been great to be able to see the equipment we have with ease. I can now easily inflate basketballs that look low on air or count the number of materials I need for a certain class. The whole equipment closest is now organized thanks to these bins. Thank you for making that all possible!”

    With gratitude,

  • Brooklyn Arbor Students Needs New PE Equipment

    Funded May 13, 2019

Thank you so much for donating to this project! It means so much that I will be able to incorporate a new unit in the new school year. Striking with long handed implements is a challenging skill that students enjoy learning. It can be challenging to teach in a school setting due to lack of enough equipment. This donation allows us to help students learn foundational skills to become lifelong participants!”

  • Whiteboard & Printer Needed for New P.E. Teacher!

    Funded Sep 4, 2018

Thank you so much for donating to my classroom. As a first year teacher at a new school, it can be challenging to have all the resources you need to be successful. Being able to have a printer in my office has allowed me to give assessments, create visuals, and provide students with any printed materials they need to be successful.

The whiteboard has been extremely helpful in creating a more structured environment in the cafeteria. Students were not use to having Physical Education in the cafeteria so having the whiteboard as a tool for structure has helped students transition easier.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Leighton

  • New P.E. Teacher in Need of New Equipment!

    Funded Oct 3, 2018

Thank you again for donating to my classroom. The additional basketballs, jump ropes, and balance beams have really helped me in my first year of teaching. Students are so excited to be able to practice basketball skills and get ample practice time due to there being enough equipment for every child to be active at the same time. It was amazing being able to see students learn how to jump rope for the first time. Learning to jump rope is such an important skill to learn because it allows students to be active for a lifetime. The balance beams were a great addition to our gymnastics and balance unit. Students advanced to tumbling and doing cartwheels on the balance beams. For next steps, we will be trying to put a basketball club together for next year and participating in Jump Rope for Heart.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Leighton

I am so excited to be joining my school's community this year! My goal is to develop physically literate children who have the knowledge, skills and confidence to enjoy a lifetime of physical activity. We will be learning movement concepts, fitness components, sports-related skills, cooperative learning, and nutrition. I am working along side another Physical Education teacher. We are excited to able to offer our students Physical Education twice a week this year due to having an additional PE teacher in the school. In order to make space for my teaching schedule, I will be teaching in the cafeteria. This whiteboard/cork board and basic printer will allow me to give proper instruction and structure to my lessons. Specifically, I will utilize the whiteboard to write "Today's Goal" for every class so students are always able to know what we will be working on for the day. On the cork board side, I will create a word wall with words from our current unit. I will be using the printer for various reasons- mainly to print self and peer assessments for students to work on. In addition, I will be using the printer to keep the cafeteria space full of visuals.
