Since I am a new special education teacher to the U.S. and most of my students are bilingual low-income students, we could really use books in both English and Spanish. Their reading levels are low and their environment cannot provide them with the proper materials at home or in school. We have 5 books in our classroom right now, which is just sad. We will use the books every day, in multiple ways: - me reading to my students - read to self - read in groups, discussing the books - take home to read and relax - to learn about a certain topic Books were my way to escape the world around me, to relax and learn. I wish my students can experience the same thing.
