COVID has affected everyone in very different ways; We were all in the same storm, but not in the same boat. Students have varied needs this year, requiring a more individualized approach. Unfortuantely, I have a teeny-tiny classroom this year due to being in a swing space while our old school gets an update. This does not lend itself easily to small group teaching, especially when teaching with an ESOL co-teacher. Because so many of my students lacked adequate access to hi speed internet, small group and individulaized learning is going to be essential in helping accelerate student learning this year. I need a place for students to sit comfortably, away from their normal seats while my co-teacher and I utilize student desks for small groups. These materials will allow us to transition to small group teaching seamlessly without losing valuable instuction time. Also, students got used to learning from home, in comfort. When they logged into school last year, they were sitting on the floor with pillows and in their beds sitting criss cross. Students have expressed how they enjoyed that part of virtual learning. These materials will allow student to continue learning in comfort.
