Ishmael is one of the greatest books of all time! It teaches the concept of "taking" and "leaving" things in life. In a world divided, Ishmael poses questions to real life issues and has you walking away feeling more connected and compassionate to others life journeys. I will guide my students through this novel and touch on sociocultural literacy in hopes that students will feel more connected to there feelings and beliefs and gain a deeper perspective on connecting with each other. Having similar backgrounds to my kids, Ishmael was the first book I fell in love with and I know my students will walk away changed!
