Our school is in a large urban school district in Oklahoma. The 430 students are from diverse backgrounds, both culturally and socioeconomically. I am a member of the enrichment team working alongside teachers offering art, music and physical education. As the outdoor educator, I offer STEAM related activities with the intention to integrate all academic areas. The outdoor classroom includes a children's forest, prairie classroom, teepee village, boardwalk, pollinator gardens and a H20 lab. This is the first year for our school to have an educator designated to teaching with a focus on outdoor education. I am in the midst of building the program and gathering needed tools and materials.
