  • Honoring the Lunar Year with Memorabilia

    Funded Jan 8, 2025

I truly value your participation in this fantastic community that is uniting to support and encourage the incredible growth taking place in my classroom. letting children learn about the Lunar Year while appreciating variety and investigating multiculturalism. "Foiled Again" was a big hit. The children were happy, involved, and learning.

Again, I want to thank you for showing them that there are many individuals who care about their education and want them to be successful. That encourages kids to study harder and learn more on their own. Thank you for making it possible!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Olmos

  • Bookworms on the Rise

    Funded Dec 4, 2024

Thru this project, I have incorporated my book collection as a resource for early finisher activities in my classroom. Once students complete their assignments and I have reviewed their work, they are welcome to visit the bookshelf and select any book of their choice. On a monthly thematic basis, I also showcase books throughout the classroom, highlighting diverse authors and characters from various backgrounds. I love seeing students engage with stories that expand their understanding of the world. Allowing them the freedom to choose what they read has been instrumental in improving their fluency and comprehension.

In my classroom, students are free to pick any book that interests them, without being restricted to their "reading level." I believe reading should be an enjoyable experience, and students should feel encouraged to explore any material they find appealing. They can read at their desks or find a quiet spot on the floor to immerse themselves in their chosen book. Additionally, there are days when I read aloud to the class, often sharing a chapter from a selected book at the end of the day or just a simple read aloud.

It's been so rewarding to see how excited some students are about new books! A few have fallen in love with a particular title, revisiting it repeatedly, while others have ventured into unfamiliar stories they hadn't encountered before.”

    Mrs. Olmos

  • Let's Get The Wiggles Out

    Funded Sep 20, 2024

I appreciate your support for my classroom. It is difficult in today's classrooms; as teachers, we are always making modifications to offer the ideal learning environment for all children. When determining the ideal setting for kids, it's crucial to consider several variables that contribute to their success. Whether it's the classroom design, wall decor, seating options, student choices, or technology. Classrooms, like the rest of the world, are adapting to changing needs and trends. Having a better understanding of how to create the ideal learning environment for children can improve their success.

I appreciate the opportunity you have given my students to let their wiggles out. They genuinely like the idea that they may learn and roam around their seats.

Thank you for your continuing support for America's future!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Olmos

  • Reading Is Power!

    Funded May 7, 2024

I would want to express my heartfelt gratitude for your assistance in supporting my students create a classroom library that includes multicultural literature. This funding has influenced my students by allowing them to read ethnic and diverse books. Your willingness to help children with different learning methods was incredibly sweet. Your donation will help children improve their visual perception of the world around them, become more literate, and be able to see their community through many lenses, as well as build critical thinking abilities.

As students enter the classroom, they are compelled to read more and choose diverse books. I am noticing an improvement in what kids want to learn and a boost in vocabulary growth. I have even witnessed students take books to recess to share with other students. That is wonderful!

Thank you again for assisting my student's blossom as multicultural and varied learners.”
