Smile! We Need a Candid Camera!
Funded Jan 23, 2020First and foremost, THANK YOU! When I first told our Yearbook Committee that our project got funded, they were so excited! When our new camera arrived, I waited to open the box with them. Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures of the look on their faces when I pulled it out of the box, we were all caught up in the moment! Some gasped, some clapped, some did a jump of joy, but all of them could not stop smiling! It was such a special moment! Please know that you truly helped out club and school with this new camera.
In the past at CEA, we were given an outdated camera that took blurry pictures that were unable to be used in the school yearbook. We struggled to collect pictures because the quality of even a phone camera did not suffice for a printed yearbook. We only had a handful of pictures to work with, from the one day of the year that the yearbook company came out to the school and took pictures. However, our school has so many different events that we wanted to highlight students in our yearbook. This new camera allows us to take pictures at any given time. In the short time that we have had the camera, we have already done that! The students have taken responsibility and more ownership of the yearbook because they are the ones taking the pictures!
The pictures attached are all pictures taken by the students in the Yearbook Committee with our new camera! When we first pulled them up to look at, the students were so shocked at how clear the quality of the pictures were. They get so excited to use the camera. We even got to set up a photo booth at the Valentine's Day dance to use our new camera! All of the students who attended the dance had a blast in our photo booth! We have taken pictures of different events and projects students have done around the school. The Yearbook Committee has become more invested in attending events and has gained social skills, with working with different students and teachers in the process.
Although it may seem like just a piece of technology, this camera has brought our club closer together and brought more engagement in the yearbook. The students get so excited when there is a game, project, or club doing an activity. They students love to show off their skills and talents! It is a win for everyone in the school. We truly thank you for your donations, this would not be possible without you!
