  • Upgraded Appliances

    Funded May 11, 2024

We are so excited to get our upgraded appliances before the end of this school year! My students will be excited to have access to a freezer and microwave so that we can remain in our classroom for cooking.

We appreciate your support for our continued adventures in cooking this year and in the coming years.

Thank you again for supporting us! It means more than you know!”

    With gratitude,

  • Multi-tasking with i-Pads

    Funded Nov 8, 2023

We were so excited to have our i-Pad funded so quickly!

Since receiving our i-Pad we have used it for animal research, district testing, used it to help us draw, and use our Osmo's to enhance all academic school.

Our students were so excited to have an i-Pad that could be updated to the newest software so they could use all the features available on a school device. This i-Pad also allowed my students to share 1 device between 4 students, to 1 device for every 2 students.

We appreciate your support in supporting our classroom!”

  • Imaginary and Collaborative Play

    Funded May 18, 2023

Thank you so much for your generous donations!

We got to end the 2022-2023 school year with a bunch of new toys which allowed us some special fun after end of the year testing.

My students were so excited to use all the new toys. The Pix Brix and Zoo set were some of the favorites.

We are so excited to use all of our new materials for an entire school year! My second graders did remember unboxing all of the materials and they were excited to play with them this year. We look forward to learn through play all school year long.”

  • Mid-year Refresh

    Funded Jan 23, 2023

Thank you for your generous donations to our classroom!

My students and I were so eager to open all of our Amazon packages this winter.

The students were the most excited for the different sensory balls that arrived. Each student had a different favorite, but the most popular was the ball that had water beads inside of it.

Since getting our materials, we have been working our way through our whiteboard markers in math and reading.

We have made many crafts using our watercolor paper (tin foil spring art and Panda bears) were the students favorites. My students were also eager to have some more color options with our Kwik sticks.

Thank you so much for supporting my students and I with your donations. We look forward yo using our materials.”

  • Crafty Cooks

    Funded May 4, 2022

My students and I have been enjoying all of our cooking materials! In the spring we used them to make rice krispie treats and we made cloud dough using the food coloring and cotton candy scented oil. In summer school we used the materials to make the layers of the ocean with pudding and vanilla wafers.

My students were excited to open all the packages with me. They loved the double sets of measuring cups and specifically loved using the level to measure. The extra materials have made my job easier as a teacher as I don't have to bring in my materials from home to use and lug them back home.

We plan to continue doing a cooking activity each month this school year with my students. My students from last year are very eager to use the materials again! Thank you so much for your support and donations to this project. We couldn't have done this without you!”

  • Books for Learning

    Funded May 7, 2021

Thank you so much for the books for our classroom! We will use these books in a variety to ways.

Many of my students come for social skills and behavior support. These books have relatable characters going through so many things that my students are going through. This is a fun way to introduce tough subjects to my students.

We also got some books to help build community. At the beginning of the year we write a class mission statement and these books help facilitate the experience with my students.

Lastly, and more importantly, some of the these books are just for fun! Reading is tough for so many of my students, and having fun and silly read alouds help break the ice.

Thank you again for supporting the love of reading in my classroom!”

  • Hands-on with Osmo

    Funded May 6, 2020

Thank you so much for supporting my classroom! My students love doing Osmo as part of choice time, reading, and math.

Unfortunately do to Covid-19, my students had to wait until the start of school to see the new Osmo activities. They were so excited to have new options of activities to do. Some of the favorite activities are Pizza Math, Monster Drawing, and The Detective Agency.

Going forward, we will continue to use our Osmo for independent work time and choice time. My students love earning their badges and look forward to Osmo each day.

Thank you all again for supporting both my students and myself!”

  • Books For Learning!

    Funded Mar 4, 2020

Thank you so much for your donation! We received all of our books the second to last day that we were in school due to COVID-19. We are so excited to read the books together once we are in school together again.

These books will help with teaching self-regulation, calming down, and learning about friendships during social skills and just for fun!

I know my students and I can't wait to dive into these books in person. Luckily before our school building was closed from COVID-19, I grabbed some of the books and have been reading them digitally to the students.

Thank you again so much for these books, supporting my students, and myself!”

  • Sensory Seekers Seek Tools

    Funded Aug 17, 2019

Thank you again for your contribution to our classroom. My students and I were so excited to explore and use our new sensory tools!

We have only been in school for three weeks, but my students are using ALL of their tools each and every day. My students love to walk across the rainbow tiles and like to arrange them in different ways each day. Each day they request to use our sensory items and love exploring something different each time they are in my room.

Many of my students couldn't wait until our new water beads grew so they could see they different shapes we got. They also loved testing out the new sensory sand and love that they have tools to build cities, castles, and forts.

Thank you again for all of these items. My students have access to different items to help regulate their emotions and to also allow them to connect to others in play.”

    With gratitude,

Each of my students are unique, and crave different stimulation to help them learn and regulate their emotions. My students view our classroom as their safe place. Before my students can learn, they need a chance to get their bodies and brains ready to learn. My students seek physical and tactile experiences to help regulate themselves. Often times, my students will do unexpected (or at times inappropriate) behaviors because they are unable to get the input or have their sensory needs met. Since my students range in age from 5-8 years old, many do not have the verbal or social skills to make these requests. If my students can see the options they have, they are better able to select an appropriate tool to regulate them. When learning is mixed with moving, touching, and doing, my students are more engaged and learn at a quicker pace than by sitting and listening to instruction. My students also crave independent unstructured activities. Having a variety of options allows to me meet all of my students desires and makes them more successful at school.
