Learning Materials for Children with Autism
Funded May 7, 2024Thank you so much for your generous! The donated learning games are now being used all the time in our classroom. I am able to use the materials to create more fun and engaging lessons with my students. The best part is they feel like they are just playing but they are learning so many skills in the process.
These learning games are very useful since they promote a positive learning experience for the students. We have been seeing the students reaching their individualized goals and having more fun in the process. This is all thanks to your generosity.”

Funded Sep 12, 2023Thank you so much for your donation. The printer that was purchased has helped us so much in getting our classroom set up. As you might know, our students are visual learners and need a lot of visual supports to help create routine and structure in the classroom. The printer has helped me print the materials needed in a very timely manor.
As a result, the classroom is properly labeled, the visual schedules are set up and in use. In addition, adaptive books and material are able to be printed out and used for instructional purposes. This is all thanks to you. We could have not done this without your generous donation.”

Funded May 2, 2022Thank you so much for the wonderful sensory toys that are now being used all the time in our classroom. I put up a beautiful sensory wall in our classroom using the materials that we received from donors choose. The students are very excited to work for breaks at the wall. They enjoy writing their names and waving their hands over the sequins board. They like to match the smaller sensory disks with the larger ones up on the wall.
A couple of days ago, one of our minimally verbal students called out sparkles please. After a moment, we realized the child wanted to play with the sequin wall. This was a highly reinforcing item for the child that helped promote speech and communication.
These sensory items are very useful since they promote a positive learning experience for the students. Each time the students are given a task, they are able to pick a sensory item to work for. Once the task is completed they are rewarded with the item they requested. This helps keep the experience a positive one.”

Supporting Children With Autism
Funded Dec 2, 2019Thank you SO much for your generous support. The materials we received from donorschoose has greatly impacted the students in my class. My students are learning to count with 1:1 correspondence using the Lakeshore Counting Cars. We have been seeing a tremendous amount of improvement in counting and fine motor skills with them. In addition, the laminating paper, Velcro and labels have been used to make adapted books and create resources for the kids. This is helping us create a rich learning environment for our students.
The progress we have been seeing is all thanks to you for opening your heart.”

Sensory for Autism
Funded Feb 14, 2019Thank you so much for your thoughtful and generous donations. The sensory toys have been a great hit in our classroom. Firstly, it helped our students get used to playing with toys they have never seen before or just never liked to play with.
In addition, everyday for a certain period of time we turn on our classroom lamp, turn off the lights, play some music and have sensory play time. The students respond so well to this and actually look forward to from the morning. One of our students walks into the classroom and repeatedly requests for us to 'turn off the lights'.
It is thanks to your donations that our student can have this type of opportunity.
Thank you!”

Learning the Alphabet
Funded Jan 23, 2019I am so thankful for your generous donations. The Alphabet tubs have been put to good use and my students are learning so much with them. Since the children in my class are minimally verbal and nonverbal, having these visual and tactile tubs help them expand their knowledge and understanding of different common object as well as the letters of the alphabet. My students get very excited every week when they see a new tub is coming out of the closet. They enjoy playing with and manipulating the adorable objects in each tub. One student in particular has learned to identify almost all the items in the tub every single week. This is an amazing accomplishment and it is all thanks to your generous donation.
Thank you for opening your hearts!”
