Funded Aug 30, 2019My students and I are having such an amazing start to the year, thanks to your generous donations! We use the supplies you purchased for us every single day. The caddies and bins help keep our supplies ready and organized, we use the white boards and markers to show our work, share our ideas, and work out new concepts. We also are literally overflowing with Ticonderoga pencils which is fabulous because we can't accomplish anything in math class without a nice sharp pencil!
When the boxes arrived and I explained how we were able to receive such nice supplies, my kids were blown away. They were really touched that people from all over the country who don't even know them, cared about their education so much that they donated their hard earned money to support them.
Thanks so much for making me and my students feel special and for ensuring that public school students are getting the things they need to be successful!”

Classroom Essentials
Funded Sep 3, 2018These materials have indeed been essential to our success this year. The white boards have made every aspect of our day more manageable. Students LOVE using their whiteboards to show their work, draw diagrams, make plans, and even to challenge each other's thinking in debates and discussions. We have also put the caddies and the book baggies to great use. The students have an abundance of notebooks, workbooks, school supplies, and paperwork they must keep track of and these 2 things have enabled them to be as organized as 5th graders can be. The colored paper has helped bring our classroom projects to life and the white paper is used constantly for the students' projects-from publishing their original writing pieces to creating timelines, graphs, and charts, and for art project as well. Thank you so much for your generous contributions to our classroom, you have made my students and myself very happy and helped our progress tremendously.”

Funded Sep 2, 2018These resources have been so helpful throughout our day, but especially during math. Students love using the white boards to help them with math problem solving. I love using them for quick assessments during lessons. My students have grown tremendously in math problem solving so far this year, and it has been made much easier because we had a white board for everyone as well as a stockpile of dry erase markers to use with our boards.
Students not only can use the boards as a blank white board, but also can put various templates inside the boards to help them with hard concepts such as place value, long division, and double-digit multiplication.
They also use the white boards to illustrate and justify their thinking in debates about ways to solve math problems.
Thank you so much for your generous donations that have helped math come alive in our classroom this year!”

Funded Sep 12, 2018Thank you so much for making it possible for my students to have access to high quality non-fiction reading material. They get so excited when a new Time for Kids magazine comes in and can't wait to dive in. They also frequently visit the online Time for Kids resource to research various topics that peak their interest.
They have participated in debates, discussions, and inquiry projects based on the articles and ideas they have been exposed to from Time for Kids. They also were able to make connections between a Time for Kids edition about refugees to a classroom fiction book we were reading in class about an African refugee who came to America. Combining these two resources made for a much deeper understanding of this concept.
Thanks again for helping my students' love of Non-fiction reading come alive. They have become better readers, writers, and citizens of the world because of your generosity.”

Mrs. Trezise
