Our current classroom rug has imaginary spaces and spots for students to sit in. During lessons, students get squirmy and start to shift around. Students start to get frustrated with each other with complaints of, "you're in my spot!," or "you're touching me!" These outbursts interrupt the flow of the lesson and we have to pause to address the spacial issues. A rug with colorful designated spaces will help us stay focused and engaged! Each student will have a specific spot that has boundaries that will cut down the amount of time spent on managing who sits where. A great management aide that will teach us about respecting each other's space!
