  • Let's Be Organized in 2024 - 2025!

    Funded Jul 15, 2024

When it comes to teaching math, there are many different hands on supplies that are useful and beneficial to the learning process. In a math class, we use various supplies such as rulers, compasses, geometric polygon manipulatives, graph paper, etc.... Up until now, we never had proper storage for any of it. These storage bins are of all sizes so as to fit all of the math tools and manipulatives and we will now be able to keep our classroom organized. The bins will be extremely helpful because now students can't retrieve their supplies (and put them back) without waiting for me to give all of it out one by one.

Every time we use these bins we will be thinking of you. Thank you so much for helping my students.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Magner

  • Digitizing Geometry Class

    Funded Jun 17, 2024

At the moment we are in summer school session and I have a student that is required to have/use a device. However, in math classrooms especially, it is difficult to show work and do any sort of calculations by using a mouse.

At the moment, this stylus has been put to great use with this student, as she is now able to show her work on her device.

So much of what I do as a math educator depends on understanding student thinking. The stylus allows me to see the way students think.

Thank you for helping to make sure each student has an equal opportunity to learn and succeed.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Magner

  • Classroom iPad to Assist Student Learning

    Funded Jan 9, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous donation! My students are so grateful for the iPad you gifted us and we have been utilizing it daily, in our math classroom.

The iPad has assisted students in utilizing online platforms whom otherwise do not have access to technology. It also allows students who have been absent to log into our Google Classroom to see what notes they've missed and/or to review a past lesson. Furthermore, many students have trouble seeing the class notes and online homework problems from their personal phones as the screen is too small but with our iPad, students are able to see an enlarged screen which allows them to also work collaboratively with their peers.

We are so appreciative for your kindness and thank you immensely for elevating our education with your donation. If more people in this world were like you, giving back when having the means to do so, this world would be much lovelier place.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Magner

As an educator, I provide a safe and stimulating classroom environment that capture students’ curiosity and further develops strong reasoning skills. While teaching for the past seventeen years, I have developed a true understanding that the classroom environment is the foundation for higher learning. I learned that an effective teacher must plan lessons that motivate students, make adjustments as needed, and reflect on how well the students understand the lesson based on their questions and responses. It is my goal to instill the foundation, knowledge, and skills needed for my students to be successful regardless of their mathematical ability or level. With this technology, I will be better able to differentiate my lessons to address the different learning styles of all my students whether they are visual or auditory learners.
