All children love to learn in a classroom that is bright, colorful, and involves student interaction as much as possible. Active learning has been shown to increase retention in students, particularly young learners. I want to give my 2nd graders as many opportunities to participate in their learning as possible! Our reading and math curriculum have websites that include online games and activities. These games and activities can be used to introduce new concepts, as well as, reinforce those concepts already taught. An interactive whiteboard system and whiteboard will allow my students to participate in these activities and be more active in their learning.
