My students are always willing to go the extra mile to ensure that they are learning and on track in my classroom. A large majority of them refuse to let their lack of access to technology impede their learning. By providing laptops for students to type their essays in the classroom I can alleviate unnecessary stresses that the students sometimes feel when they lack access at home to technology. We are currently conducting all of our test and writing our essays in Google Classroom and this sometimes impacts students who are unable to access these things at home. My hope is to ensure that all of my students have equal access to the tools they require to be successful as they continue through school as well as their lives beyond their K-12 education. By providing opportunities in the classroom to access and utilize technology and typing skills I will be preparing them for their continuing education and equipping them with 21st century skills.
