Celebrate Diversity in the Classroom!
Funded Nov 6, 2023When I first told my students that books about diversity were donated to our classroom. The children were cheering excitedly. The looks on their faces were worth the effort in trying to get the project funded for them.
When the books arrived, I decided to read each book to the children before putting them out in the classroom library. I did not instruct the students to go into the library. However, I noticed that the children were going there on their own.
Books are utterly amazing. I always felt that reading should not be an assignment. Reading should be an enjoyment. After receiving the books, I realized that it is possible for the children to go and read on their own. The classroom library is starting to fill up with books that are interesting and represent the children in the classroom.
Thank you for your generosity to my classroom. My students are smiling and enjoying the books that were donated.”

Funded Sep 20, 2023It's been a fun experience with this new change in the classroom. I had envisioned a warm welcoming library for the children. In many ways, the dream of giving the children a warm organized place for the children to read has been accomplished. With that in mind, the quote, A place for Everything and Everything in its Place comes to mind. Books are organized and easily accessible. The children can read in a quiet, relaxing place. The children can choose books that they are interested in and sit comfortably in the new library.
When the library was first opened, the children were so eager to go in. The smiles on the children's faces were priceless. Just seeing this moment was worth all the effort that went into putting everything together. Seeing the children fully engaged in reading was so rewarding.
This experience continued and I hope that the children's love for this new area in the classroom continues throughout the year. The children and I appreciate all that you have done to make this dream, thought and idea come true for us.”

Funded Jan 25, 2022Thank you for thinking of the students at Vang Pao School. Your donations made it possible for the children in my classroom to have things in color. This would not be possible if not due to your generosity, kindness, and support. My students and I are enjoying our new printer. We are extremely fortunate to donors like you, who are supporting us. The printer prints beautiful pictures for me to use during my centers. This is also an encouragement for me to be creative and continue to create lessons for my students. Again, thank you from me and my students for making this project come alive in our classroom.”

Funded Dec 7, 2020Thank you so much for the donation. The donations brought much needed equipment and supplies to the hands of my students. Your kind generous donation has made a great impact on the lives of the children in my classroom. The headphones helped immensely. Students were more focused when they were able to hear me with less distractions at home.
Students were more engaged when they were provided with materials at home. This project made it more equitable for students who might not have sufficient supplies. They appreciated the supplies and were excited to pick them up. Distance learning has been difficult for my students but this contribution helped them better access their online education.
Currently, we are transitioning back to in person learning and students will continue to use their individual set of supplies.”

Building Blocks Needed!
Funded Oct 4, 2019I used some of the materials in my last unit and this allowed the student to dig deeper into the content and apply the concepts that they learned.
My students loved the STEM manipulatives and materials that I ordered. They were extremely excited to use them for the first time and grateful for the donation. It was a hand on and interactive experience for them. I loved hearing their academic conversations as they worked out problems collaboratively.
Currently, I am working on using these materials more often and in future lessons.”
