We will be placing the balance ball chairs in our specialized classrooms, which includes our Life Skills, Applied Skills, Adaptive Behavior and SPEAK (Autism support) classrooms. We will also place one in the SPED student support office. Balance balls encourage posture and increase blood flow to the brain through movement. Its commonly recommended as an intervention for students with a diagnosis of ADHD or Autism to engage in purposeful movement which can increase focus. Sensory stimulation through ball movement can aide a student in processing emotions and alleviating feelings of anxiety. We were blessed to receive one balance ball on our campus and we have already seen the benefit of it's use.
