Here is my idea that I would love to try out this year. I teach at a low income school where almost all students receive free or reduced lunch. I teach a group of 2nd Grade Dual Immersion students who are in need of bilingual non-fiction readers. Each month I receive Scholastic Book forms for my students. Many of my students can't afford to purchase books. How cool would it be for each of my students to receive a free new book every month. My students would love to take home a new book each month during the school year from September to May. If I select from the $1 books that would be $9 per child (for a full school year) Would you be interested in sponsoring a student in my class? New books are always so fun and it's a great way to build life long love of reading and encouraging spending time together with family in a productive way. I would appreciate it more than I could ever explain!!
