Online learning is hard! The Covid-19 Pandemic has had a profound effect on how educators teach and how students learn. Concepts that were once taught in-person with hands-on manipulatives to students placed in cooperative learning groups are currently a thing of the past and many teachers have gone into survival mode. However, as the weeks have progressed, many of us have found a groove; a way to pivot our normal teaching practices and transform the way we teach.
So while, I have found a new workflow, new ways to engage my learners, and assess their understanding, there is still an area in which I struggle to connect with my students and it comes down to a small, yet very significant area of need--a second computer screen that will allow me to see all of my students at once.
My school uses Zoom as the only method of synchronous instruction and unfortunately, this platform only allows for 25 faces to be displayed on a screen at once. Please help me fund the purchase of a second screen and docking hub so that I can provide seamless and user-friendly online instruction. The utilization of a second screen will allow me to see ALL of my students during Zoom meetings and will restore what I miss most about teaching in person--seeing all of my students' smiling faces. Thank you!
