My project focuses mainly on serving my students in a way that allows them to have and enjoy an inherently differentiated educational experience. In order to do so, I will aim to “flip” the classroom and allow for more self-paced learning amongst my students. For instance, I will be using several of these resources, like the microphone, chair, external hard drive, laptop, and iPad covers, to record, store, and protect a variety of traditional lectures in a more professional and polished podcast manner. This will then free me up and allow me an opportunity to work more with my students in a one-to-one or small group-like fashion throughout the school year having completed the bulk of my work in advance, and it will allow students the opportunity to review the specific content of a given unit at any time they feel is necessary or throughout the course of one of their days.
In my attempt to further serve students and meet their needs, I am also looking to incorporate both small and large-sized video files into the classroom as supplemental texts. In order to do so, I will need to, once again, utilize the microphone, external hard drive, chair, laptop, and iPad covers in a way that allows me to research, record, and store video materials safely and securely, as well as access them on demand. Students will benefit from this level of instruction and use of supplemental materials because they will be better able to make stronger connections in their world(s) to the topics and concepts being discussed in the curriculum.
