Walking in the Shoes of an American Revolutionary!

Funded Dec 23, 2010

I would like to take this opportunity to whole-heartedly thank you for the video cameras. The students were so excitedly engaged in every step of the project. It became obvious to me as I observed the process of the children writing a script, casting the players, creating a background and finally shooting a scene; that these activities empowered the boys and girls.

They loved the independence and chance to participate and create in a group project and be able to show their own particular strength. Some were more outgoing and clearly wanted to be in the shot. Others loved being the director and still others operated more in line with being art director or prop master. All in all the experience was fun and enriching for the students. I believe they will always remember this project fondly. I can also attest to the fact that they actually learned a lot about the American Revolutionary heroes we studied about through this process.”

With gratitude,
