Thank you so much for supporting our project. The students are in love with all of the new items we have in our classroom. The students have a wonderful time reading and enjoying books because of your donation.
The tablets have been a tremendous help in finding materials that are engaging and motivating for the students. I am able to download ebooks and display articles that support the work we are doing in reading, writing and math. As well, the students are not limited to the books we have in school. There is a world of opportunity at their fingertips.
The yoga balls, inflatable couches, tables and risers have given my students flexible seating options. We have begun using the yoga balls and couches.. they are in love. I have noticed they have an increase in stamina and a desire to read for longer periods of time.

This classroom project was brought to life by Staples.

The students in second grade are learning how to enjoy reading. In previous grades students were taught how to read. Now, we are learning how to enjoy reading. We learn to read for pleasure, education and research. The items you will purchase will allow students to enjoy reading while being comfortable. The six Kindles will provide students with the opportunity to select material that is not available in our classroom library. Students will be able to pick their material (books, e-books, magazines) and where they would like to enjoy reading. As adults, we know we enjoy reading more sitting in a comfy and cozy place than at our "work" desks. The Kindle Fire Tablets will allow the students to practice many literacy skills through fun engaging game. Students will be able to read material of their choosing as well as practice skills and strategies taught in the classroom. The requested yoga balls and mats will provide students with a comfortable place to relax and read. We all love to curl up with a good book and these balls and mats will let us do just that. The inflatable chairs will be a special place for our school leaders (who have proven to be deserving of the seat) will be able to offer fellow students assistance with their books or tablets.
