  Thank you so much for your generous donations. The students at PS/IS 173 thank you immensely for your generosity. As a result of your donation, we were able to create an afters school club which focuses on all the aspects of computational thinking. We are using the games and manipulatives to conduct plugged and unplugged activities.

  The students look forward to exploring and expanding their computer science knowledge and abilities. Thanks to you we are expanding as a technology savvy group.”

• Personalized Materials Keep You Safe!

  Thank you so much for your generosity. My students were very excited to see their names printed on their desks, chairs, closet hooks, supplies, etc. With everything labeled it just made it so much easier to keep everyone safe. The students take pride in requesting labels for things they bring from home or projects we work on in class.

  The most exciting part was when we made personalized masks to wear in our school.

• Learning From a Distance

  Receiving the document camera completely changed my life. Teaching second graders remotely is a very difficult task and having a document camera certainly made it easier. The document camera allows me to share my work, a story or other material with my students. Having the visual aspect of the skill I am trying to teach you allows them to clearly see and understand my model and makes it more accessible to them.

  Now that I can use a document camera at home, I have been able to explore topics I otherwise would not have explored because it would have been too abstract for my students. Thank you for changing my world!”

  Thank you so much for your very generous donations. My students and I have taken full advantage of the materials and use them daily to reflect on learning and on the world around us.

  When my students arrived and saw the new journals, baggies and notebooks on their desks their reactions were priceless! They were excited to start a new year with new materials and journals in which to reflect on such a trying year.

• iRead Using a Tablet!

  Thank you for your donation. My students love using the tablets! My school participates in a program called Renaissance Learning, which measures students' reading comprehension via online quizzes. My students love reading a book and tracking their comprehension after they take a quiz.

  We also use the tablets for educational math and phonics games. My students enjoy the games so much, they don't realize they are actually learning.

• eReading is FUNdamental!

  Thank you for helping me bring technology to my classroom. My students love using the tablets to read books and then take quizzes. My school participates in a program called Renaissance Literacy Learning, which uses technology to measure students's reading comprehension. The children read books of their choice and then take a comprehension quiz online. My students love it!!!

  The students also use the tablets to play math and phonics games. This is a fun way for them to practice and improve their skills. Once again, THANK YOU!”

• Just Like Home!

  My students love walking into our classroom and Admiring the wonderful reading nook I was able to create with the carpet. During reading time they use a pillow and lie on the carpet with a friend to read their favorite book. We are so grateful we have such a special space in our classroom.

  During morning meeting we sit on the perimeter of the carpet and share events or listen to a good read aloud. I love to see how much they appreciate your kind gesture by always taking great care of the carpet and all of our materials. Thank you so much for your generosity!”

• Hello Sunshine!

  Thank you so much for helping me create a "sunshine filled" space for my lovely students. Your contributions helped me make our classroom bright, inviting and filled with sunshine! My students love walking into a classroom which puts a smile on their faces the minute the walk in. The colorful baskets helped me organize and color coordinate my library. It is now easy for my students to access books and magazines. The caddies help them keep their own supplies organized and give them a sense of ownership. They love to proudly organize their space. • Comfy Seating = Happy Learners

  I would like to thank you for the couch, bean bags and floor seats. My students absolutely love them! It is great to see my students comfortably seating while doing their math work, reading a book, or listening to a story. As you can see in the photos, I arranged them around the meeting area and my students love being "comfy" as we meet for read aloud, a lesson or morning meeting.
