My students use laptops everyday, multiple times a day. They need headphones so they can be engaged in the interactive lessons and sites that they are working on and learning from. In Springfield all of our students use a program called IReady. In order for IReady to benefit the scholars, they need to be able to hear the tutorial piece of the program. Without headphones, this is near impossible and is not at all beneficial for their academic success. They become unengaged because they are distracted by all of the other tutorials playing around tbem. They also are less invested in completing the project because they become distracted and off task.
