Activate Math in My Classroom!
Funded Sep 21, 2022Thank you so much for contributing to my classroom and more importantly, my students and their learning. Using our primary math program alone, doesn't always provide my students with ample opportunities to improve in math.
My students were so excited to use the math games and white boards in my classroom. I have been using the math games to supplement math in small math groups. These games keep my students busy with math all while having fun. While some students are working on these new materials, I am able to work with students to test them and review any math concepts they are struggling with.
Thank you once again for donating to my class project!”

Funded May 6, 2022Thank you so much for donating to my classroom project. My students and I are so grateful for the new teacher-created material we now have access to. My students have been able to learn reading and math in more creative ways. Teachers Pay Teachers has an abundance of resources that we can choose from. I have been able to upload some very student friendly resources to use along with www.cnn10.com. The students have worked on goal-setting projects and fun homework activities that we were able to access on TPT. Thank you once again!”

Funded Jan 7, 2022Thank you for providing a range of books for my students to read. They are more engaged because we now have a variety of books to choose from. This has motivated my students to read more in class and at home as well. Many of my students do not have access to books at home. These students have been able to take the books home and read books of their liking. We are currently using the book "Flush" in a novel study. My students are showing such a great interest in this book and have engaged in higher level thinking discussions. Thank you so much!”

Funded Aug 10, 2021My students and I would like to thank you immensely for funding our reading project. We have been having a lot of fun using the Scholastic News and Scholastic Storyworks magazines in my classroom. My students are more engaged and motivated to learn about current events, debates, poetry, grammar, plays, and so much more. We especially enjoy using the digital access to these great resources. They have every story available online so we can access at home as well. I have used the engaging videos that go with some of the stories and they make learning so much fun!!”

Motivated to Read!
Funded Dec 1, 2020I would like to extend a huge thank you for allowing my project to come to life. My students and myself have access to several Scholastic Storyworks and Scholastic Super Science magazines. These magazines are amazing! They are colorful and engaging. They are high-interest topics that motivate my students to learn and ask questions. We have digital access to articles, videos, slideshows and so many other educational resources. THANK YOU for making the distance learning experience for my students a little more exciting.”

Funded Aug 11, 2020Thank to all of you who donated to my art project. My students were so excited to receive their materials and participate in love art lessons with their friends, even though it was virtual. They found painting to be an activity that helped calm them during trying times in our country. Many of my students have now turned to art as a way to cope with their social/emotional skills. They love to participate in different art activities we do together on Fun Friday! I look forward to continue using art as an outlet for my students to express their feelings and emotions.”

Funded Jan 1, 2017Thank you so much for contributing to the success of my students. We will be using this new chromebook to do many exciting things in the classroom. We will be using it to type up reports for science and social studies, research new topics of interest, and practice and enhance new and old skills language arts and math. Our next project will be a science project called, "What's Going On Inside Me?" My students are thrilled to use this new piece of technology to answer many questions we have about our bodies.”

Funded Apr 18, 2016I would like to thank each and every one of you for believing in myself and my students. Your donations went to an excellent cause. My students all come from low income backgrounds and their resources for learning are definitely limited. Since the new calculators have arrived, my students have been using them non-stop. They are allowed to use the calculators during our math block. Part of the new Common Core Standards in 6th grade is that students need to be familiar with using a calculator.
My students were thrilled when they saw the new calculators. I allowed them to explore and play with them before we actually used them for a math lesson. They are so motivated to do math using the new calculators. I taught them how to use the calculators in many different ways. They especially like to use the calculators to check their answers for accuracy.
These calculators are truly a great addition to my classroom!
Thank you”

Funded Oct 24, 2015On behalf of my students, I would like to thank all of you for taking the time to donate to my classroom project. Many of my students know how to use technology at home, but for a different purpose. With the new iPad mini and the Chromebook laptop, I am able to teach my students how to use technology as a tool to learn. On the iPad mini, I have downloaded several apps that help my students with Spanish, reading, math, and research. My students are allowed to use the iPad as a resource at any time during the day. It has been incorporated into our daily schedule.
My students are using the Chromebook laptop to work on some big research projects like: Early Human Development, Continenta Drift/Pangaea, and our Ancient Civilization project. They are able to use google as a search engine to research for these projects. They have also been using the Chromebook laptop to practice the important skills of typing, creating word documents, and simple power point presentations. I have noticed that my students are more engaged with their projects because we now have more technology in the classroom that is accessible to them.
It really makes me happy to see the students who have no technology devices at home, open up to using technology in the classroom. These particular students are most captivated by the new technology. We have also used the technology to search for images that go along with our vocabulary words and projects. My students have also gained more confidence with using technology on a daily basis. Once again, thank you to all of you for making this possible for my students.”

We Want To Listen and Learn!!
Funded Jan 30, 2012Thank you so much to everybody who took the time to make a donation to my classroom. My students were so excited when the materials were sent to my classroom, still in boxes. We didn't have a listening center with audio books for the students. Nor did we have a printer in the classroom. Since receiving these wonderful materials, my students look so forward to reading time.
My students have been using the listening center during small group instruction. They are able to set up and use the listening center without my help. The majority of my students have shown an improvement in reading fluency and reading comprehension. The students love to use the various reading resources that we now have. The listening center has been a wonderful addition to my classroom.
The printer has been a great tool for the classroom. We have been able to print colorful pictures for our animal project. The students have printed other pictures that we are able to use on our Big Question Board.
Thank you once again!”
