  • In Our Back To School Era

    Funded Aug 15, 2024

The donations you gave made the utmost impact on my Intervention Students and my Student Government Students. The children were able to make their campaign posters, their Stomp out Bullying Posters, their Say No to Drugs Posters and their Breast Cancer Awareness Posters. They were able to organize, create and develop new ideas and put them into action.

The Intervention Students were able to use the whiteboards to make words, to blend, to segment and to create their writings to help them improve test scores and increase their reading fluency. My Intervention students were so excited with the new supplies that their scores have gone up so much due to the building of their self-confidence and their skills in reading. Our students are growing and improving in all areas due to the donations from you.

At Tulsa we appreciate the people that just give a little, as that little makes a huge impact on many students and their needs. Our school is the best kept secret in Granada Hills and we would like to continue improving so we can grow as a community of learners and students. Thank you!”

Your donations have helped Tulsa SAS go even further in the future of technology. We can now use our new technolgy to help us create our yearbooks, our student publishing book and much, much more.

Tulsa SAS means we are a school of advanced studies and having new technology will help us advance into the future. We can take our leadership tools and our new technology and creat a wonderful environment for future Tulsa Tigers. We thank you for your donation and we hope that one day you will see us roar into the future and you will know you had a hand in it!”

  • Building Leaders

    Funded Sep 11, 2023

At Tulsa SAS our Student Council is full of creativity and impact! We are always spreading our kindness, our leadership qualities and our helpfulness throughout our community and beyond. The resources that were donated have helped with impacting our Character Counts Program and our election campaign for the 2023-2024 school year. The Fifty-Five Student Council/Leadership students have created posters, bulletin boards and helpful flyers for our theme days and school spirit days!

Tulsa SAS Student Councils goes above and beyond at out school. They help with the UTK and Kinders in the morning before school even starts. During the school day our leaders are helping with UTK, Kinder and 1st grades during play time, showing the students how to play and use good character and good sportsmanship while playing. Our Student Council Roars with Kindness and these resources will go far and wide to help our leaders grow strong and courageous.”

  • Safe and Clean Computers

    Funded Jun 6, 2021

Thank you so much for all your donations. These items will help me keep a Clean, Safe and COVID free environment in my computer lab. It will also allow me to have a full class in my room and use all the computers that are available for use. My computer lab has been closed for 15 months because it is not COVID compliance and now using these dividers and covers I can allow the lab to be used and be COVID compliant.

Again, thank you so much. Our Tulsa Tigers appreciate all your help and donations!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Callahan

  • Learning Through Technology

    Funded Sep 5, 2018

Thank you all so much for your donations to help get the computer lab at Tulsa School for Advanced Studies up and running smoothly. The headphones work so well and the students are so happy to be able to control the volume from the headphone. The students are able to use the English language learning program more effectively with the mouse pads and the headphones.

The mouse pads are being used to help students gain better mouse control and this will help them succeed more on the state mandated testing we do in March, April and May. Your donations have helped the computer lab look beautiful and work effectively for all that come in.

    Thank you all so much!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Callahan

Technology today is a key to learning! The students need to understand all the functions and uses of technology, not just in the classroom but in the world. In our computer lab, we learn how to use computers for homework, projects and research. The computer lab is also used by our English Learners, with a program that helps them grasp phonics, reading comprehension and spelling all through computer games. Computer Lab at our school is a great opportunity for the students to develop skills that will be used for many years. Mouse pads will help the students learn how to drag and drop, cut and paste and crop without any difficulties using the mouse. My students will use the headphones while taking the state mandated testing and for our English learners when they come in to use a software program that is developed for them to learn English through phonics, reading comprehension and spelling. When they exit from fifth grade they are ready for the next step and prepared to do all their homework, reports and projects, all on the computer. Computer skills help in many ways today not just in business but in education, vocational and technical learning. The students are extremely excited to come to the computer lab daily and love to share their experiences with parents, their teachers and their classmates.
