This is incredible! The days were ticking down and I began to doubt if this proposal would receive enough support to earn full-funding. Silly me. Words cannot describe what I am feeling at this moment. Thank you for truly making a major impact on the lives - both in and out of school - of our deserving, hard-working, and soon-to-be very grateful classes. (Their teacher is already grateful.)”

  • 2nd Grade Listening Library

    Funded Apr 19, 2019

Teaching how to read can be very difficult. Students get frustrated and bored especially when their peers are already reading. By using audiobooks, students are able to read books at their grade level. Audiobooks help students pronounce and understand words that they would struggle to read on their own.

These audiobooks have been wonderful for the students. They love the variety of books as well as the variety of reading levels. The students are much more engaged while listening to books and reading along than just reading them by themselves.

The students are able to read with the audiobooks during stations as well as in their free time. I use them the help my readers get extra help as well as helping my English language learners. Thank you so much for your donation.”

My students will benefit from this timer to help them transition. We transition a lot in our class and the students need a warning on when they should begin finishing up their work or cleaning up their flexible seating. My students will benefit from this flexible seating because many of my students have found that they need to move while learning. While experimenting with different types of seating, many have found that sitting on the balls and moving are most effective for their learning. Currently, we only have two balls so this project will allow more students to benefit from movement while they work.
