  • Madden Made Motivation

    Funded Oct 20, 2024

Thank you so much for the Madden 25 video game and vacuum! My students have shown a lot of growth in taking responsibility for their grades and behaviors. Being successful in school can be a challenge for some students. Behaviors can be contributed to innumerable variables and influences from their parents, social media, etc. We can't control the environmental influences outside of school, but while they are in school we can try to give them the tools they need to be successful in school and later in life.

A big part of helping students is building relationships with them first. This video game group is my way of meeting them where they are and motivating them to make better choices. Showing them that positive choices lead to positive outcomes and favorable consequences, instead of the other way around! Thank you for your support on this journey!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lotts

  • Better Behavior Earns Better Rewards

    Funded Mar 12, 2024

Thank you so much for the video game controller, game and charger! The boys have been so excited to play!

They have been working really hard on making up assignments, getting work turned in and on time. They have been more focused and displayed more self control with their words and actions, and have gotten significantly less discipline referrals with this new incentive.

The students have been especially pumped because this particular game, NBA2K, is the Kobe Bryant edition, which they are all thrilled about.

    Thank you for your support!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lotts

  • Self Injury Prevention

    Funded Jan 11, 2024

I can not thank you enough for these resources. As school counselor, we are thoroughly training in suicide prevention, but I have had as much education on dealing with student who self harm. These books are full of helpful information and do's and don't for counselors, students, families, teachers, etc. There are helpful tools, lesson plans, activities and resources that are easy to understand and put into action.

My hope is that students who are in emotional pain learn healthy ways of dealing with their discomfort.

    Thank you so very much.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lotts

  • Because Black History Matters

    Funded Jan 28, 2024

The items came in perfect timing to be able to kick off the beginning of February and Black History Month with the celebratory educational décor! I love seeing the students reaction to it! It makes our students and staff feel seen, welcome, and loved.

The posters, banners, facts, and signs go along with other schoolwide programs such as Black History trivia questions, African drummer performance and a wax museum of Black Excellence.

Black men and women's achievements have shaped history and deserve recognition. It is important to pay tribute to these voices and events and continue to inspire our students.”

  • No Need to Reinvent the Wheel

    Funded May 8, 2023

Thank you so much for your donation. We will be purchasing serveral items from teacherspayteachers.com, as we gear up for Red Ribbon Week which takes place in October. Red Ribbon Week celebrates drug prevention and healthy life style choices. During this week there are classroom lessons on addiction, the risk of alcohol and drug use.

There are assemblies, trivia and prizes, themed days, bulletin boards and posters. There has been an increase in students vaping at school and we see the need to intervene. Student are not aware of the dangers of vaping and need to be better informed to make healthier decisions that will effect them in the short and long term.

Thank you for helping us help our students stay healthy, wise and strong.”

  • April Showers Bring May Flowers but Now What?!

    Funded Aug 26, 2021

Thank you so much for your donations! The hoses, mulch and other gardening supplies have made maintaining our garden a great experience for our students. Moreover, before Thanksgiving, we were able to plant over twenty trees across the campus including Maples, Dogwood, Crape Myrtles, and Tulip Trees. The new supplies you provided will continue to make caring for these plants much for feasible. Our students are having a blast learning about plants and connecting with nature. Thank you again!”

  • Mulch It Happen

    Funded May 4, 2021

The students had a wonderful time picking the weeds, rearranging some of the plants and laying the mulch. The where so tickled by the worms, beetles and other bugs. They where reacquainted with some things they learned when they were much younger about the plant life cycle. They where super enthusiastic about getting their hands in the dirt and coming up with their own ideas for the layout of the garden. My next step is to get even more mulch because it does look much better! I also plan to plant Japanese Maples in the fall. My plan is to make it as Zen as possible. Thank you so much for making this happen for my students and my school.”

  • Counselors Help Counselors

    Funded Nov 23, 2020

Thank you so much for the gift card to Teacher Pay Teacher's! So far, I used it to buy curriculum for grief, self esteem, anxiety, study skills, resiliency, mindfulness and anger management small groups and student friendly printable brochures on anger management, anxiety and worry, bully, emotions, friendships, goal setting, growth mindset, self control, self esteem, test prep, hygiene, divorce, grief, diversity, coping skills, respect, apologies, gratitude, healthy choices, breathing, social skills and I messages. I also purchased a printable social emotional workbook for students. Most recently I bought the Martin Luther King Collaborative mural for our students to do in honor of Black History Month. This a huge amount of resources that I will be able to use for years! I absolutely can't thank you enough.”

  • For the Birds

    Funded Dec 1, 2020

Our colorful wall mural is now complete! It shares the positive message "Create Peace" and is made up of bottle caps and hot glue. The mural hangs in our exploratory hallway across from the art classroom and the next to the band classroom. It definitely brightens the aesthetics of the hallway and brightens the energy of our students and staff! I will share images in the picture section! We are brainstorming another wall mural project because this one turned out so well!

The bird repellents are ready to be hung! We have had to overcome a few obstacles with installing them, but have been working through this. We didn't want to hang them in the middle of the winter or on a humid wet day. We also had to figure out how to install the reflectors on the second floor, as we think this is where the birds most frequently fly into the windows and die. Next, scheduled a time with our maintenance staff to come up with a plan to safely get a ladder or safely open the second floor windows in order to hang the repellents on the outside of the windows. The goal is to have them up next week, before a single bird falls victim to our campus windows.”

  • Mulchy, Mulchy, Mulchy!

    Funded Oct 5, 2019

The mulch has made a huge impact on our garden and mood. It looks so much nicer. Before is was just dirt and a few weeds. Teachers have expressed, how nice it is to walk by the blooms every morning compared to what it was before. A few teachers commented how the much it enhanced the aesthetic appeal of the garden and the students saw us taking care of and taking pride in our campus. What a great example for them. The teachers and students will continue to take their breaks in the garden. This also a wonderful spot for mentors and students.”

    With gratitude,
