A diverse group of students in class means different personalities. These children possess that coming from different parts of the world. I want the children to sit in their own, personal, space on the rug and show me they are ready to learn, not say “He’s touching me!”, or “He’s in my personal space.” Time is vital in the classroom. Every down time or distraction can ruin the rest of our day, hence our learning. A separate space for each one of my students is important because the children will know that once they are seated on their space in the rug, we’re starting our day and train our brains!
