Great Learning in Life Skills!
Funded Jan 24, 2023The students in my classroom have been using the resources you donated to their full extent. When we are working on the letter of the day, the students love participating to use the letter chart and are more interactive with their classmates. This also helped them learn by using real world images to connect the letter sounds. This also applies with the cash register we use when we are learning on how to make change and know the value of coins and bills.
The students are always excited and happy when they see new materials in the classroom, especially those that were donated to us. I am hoping that in the future, my students are able to continue learning and using all the materials in order for them to reach and meet their academic goals. Thank you again for all of your donations!!”

On Our Way to Learn!
Funded Aug 16, 2022My students and I use these new resources on a daily basis. Every day, we review the letter of the day and use the resources such as the alphabet tubs so they can connect real world objects to the letters. This also helps them recognize letter sounds so they are able to identify other objects/words that begin with the targeted sound. When we received all of the materials, they were excited and eager to learn with the new resources. They even love going to the library area so they can sit on the comfy chairs while they read a book alone or with a buddy.
We plan on expanding our projects and help my students begin blending sounds together so they are able to read simple CVC words. We cannot thank you enough on the impact of your donations did to our classroom. They are learning from not only the instruction I give them but by the materials you graciously donated.”

Funded Aug 13, 2019Our students are forever grateful for the supplies that were donated to our classroom. Our students are using the fundamental resources such as letter matching and shape sorting to increase their knowledge.
When our students saw boxes coming in to the classroom, their faces lit up. We began to open them and all that was heard around the classroom were "whoas" and "yays". My teaching assistant and I explained to our student what the resources were and how we were going to implement them. Their reaction was even more exciting than before!
As we progress throughout the school year, all of our students are meeting and working towards their IEP goals. Every day we are working towards that and other academic and social needs that will help my students. We are thankful for your donations and we will keep striving for success!”

Funded Aug 30, 2019As you knew from my project, my new student Hunter joined our life skills classroom. Being a visually impaired student, Hunter deserved the right education. He has used our donated resources by learning tactile objects, learning to read braille and making the classroom the right learning environment for him.
When I told Hunter about the donations we received, he was so thankful and excited to start using them. I even told him mom about the funded project and she couldn't be any more thankful for them.
Hunter is progressing every day in so many ways that we are hoping that he learns the alphabet in braille soon. We are looking for more tactile resources for him to incorporate in our lessons to make him feel like a part of our class. We are thankful for the donations and hope to make Hunter successful!”

SLL Classroom Funding
Funded Nov 20, 2018There are not enough words to thank you for the donations you have given us to supply our classroom. The impact it made on us has been fulfilling my students' educational needs.
When we first received our packages, my students were in awe when they saw the many boxes on our classroom floor. We opened it together and they could not believe the many resources, activities, and manipulatives they can use to further their education.
I work with students with mild to severe disabilities such as Intellectual Disabilities, Autism and Other Health Impairments. The majority of my students work at their best when they have manipulatives and visual resources. For example, during our math segments, our students are learning to count one-by-one with the counting cubes and are able to add or subtract with them. We also use our magnetic writing boards with students who need practice writing their letters or need extra help with learning how to grasp a pencil.
We are ever so thankful and excited about our new resources that we are using them almost every day to better the education of my students. Our next plan is to help our students learn social skills and better learn their phonemic awareness and word recognition skills. Our students are capable to accomplish anything, a disability will not stop them from learning. Thank you so much for everything.”
