Sometimes It’s the Little Things
Funded May 16, 2023I absolutely cannot thank you enough for funding this project. Positive reinforcement with items that students actually NEED is something for which my students will be eternally grateful. I will keep in touch with updates! Thank you again for your kindness, your compassion and your willingness to support my students.”

You are making an impact—a difference that could change not only the lives of these students, but generations to come. You have helped to ignite a spark that will, hopefully, be fanned into a raging inferno of curiosity and success.”

Building a Robust Vocabulary for Student Success
Funded Aug 15, 2022I want to begin by saying thank you so much for your most generous donation to my vocabulary space project. The result has been an increased interest in vocabulary, greater engagement in vocabulary exercises, and a willingness to take apart words to understand their origins.
The fund provided allowed me to purchase note cards, colored pencils, highlighters, a border and markers, as well as stamps and a site license for Storyboard That—a site that allows students to create visual representations of words, phrases and stories. All of these resources have combined to create a more engaging, high interest way to approach vocabulary.
As the year progresses, I intend to build upon what we have started, creating an urban dictionary and spending more time with common prefixes and root words.
None of this would have been possible without you—thank you again, from the bottom of my heart.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Doy
Let There Be Light—And There Was!
Funded Aug 10, 2022How exciting to be able to report on the resounding success of the new lighting, seating and setup of my classroom! I have noticed increased student engagement, better attendance and better overall attitudes.
This year, I used all secondary lighting via floor and desk lamps fitted with light bulbs that mimic outdoors. I did the research and purchased each item carefully, with that research in mind. Coupled with a comfy couch, beanbag and gaming chairs and overall flexible seating, the lighting has definitely made a difference. The atmosphere is more relaxed without having lost any academic integrity. In addition to the things mentioned above, I've noticed, in myself, far fewer headaches and less eye strain.
Thank you again for taking a chance on me and helping to fund my project. Your generosity has made a profound difference in the educational experience of dozens of seniors. Your investment in our future will be returned ten fold when these kids are out there running the country!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Doy

Funded Aug 5, 2022First, I can't thank you enough for the generous donation to my project. I am thrilled to report that the organizational techniques in my classroom have proven to be critical to student success. This is a strategy I hope to employ each year.
When I first explained the plan for classroom binders, kids were more excited than I had anticipated! When in the throes of the COVID crisis, students were struggling to find their way through the online resources—quite a paradigm shift. To ask them to again change their mindset was a daunting task: a task made so much easier by the plethora of supplies I was able to provide. Students said it was like "an early Christmas".
Each student received a binder, a journal, a pencil pouch with a bookmark, a pencil, a pen and a highlighter, as well as colored divider pages. Once the binders were set up, it became part of our routine to enter the classroom, grab that binder and work on the warmup. No students lined up for pencils, no clamoring for lined paper, no ambiguous places in the room to leave work. Instead, everything had a place in the binder. All of this made possible by your thoughtfulness and generosity. Thank you again—so much.”
