I teach first-grade students who have qualified for reading assistance based upon their reading readiness scores. Most of my students live in homes in which there are no books or academic tools for them to use once they leave school nor have parents who can help them read and complete homework. My students need books, like the Reading Recovery leveled sets, that they can read independently in order to continue practicing what they have learned in school. All of these books are on the Reading Recovery list, which selects the best books for struggling readers. With these books, my students will learn to love reading!
