My project is to help ALL learners in my classroom. I teach a wonderful group of students who struggle with behavior and language. The students come to school ready to learn but have setbacks they can’t control. In my project, I am hoping to give flexible seating options including 24 soft seats from Lakeshore purchased through this project for students who struggle sitting in a chair but need a designated area to work. I have also included interactive activities using manipulatives including Lakeshore magnetic sentence strips, magnetic pockets and magnetic hooks purchased in this project to help students who struggle to learn a new language in our writing center. I have taught special education and English as a Second Language students who strive in my classroom with the freedom to work on the floor, in a desk or standing. This helps students to focus on their classwork instead of focusing on sitting in a chair correctly.
