  • Help Our Nest Sensory Room Be Completed!

    Funded May 8, 2024

    Thanks to you, our sensory room is complete. It's a place where our students with autism can go to de stress when they need a break or are overwhelmed. The lighting, floor pads, and all of the other items in the room go together to provide relaxation and a feeling of peace. Thank you so much for your donation of the light & flooring to help complete our safe space.

    Since finishing our sensory room, some of the students say that this is a place they enjoy visiting. The floor is so soft that they can lay down and gaze up at the ceiling which is painted like a night sky. They also said that the soft lighting makes them feel like they are part of the galaxy.”

  • Quality Art Supplies For My K-5 Art Curriculum

    I was so happy to hear that I've been funded again! What a great way to end a schoolyear. I am so thankful to all of my donors and I can't wait to share the good news with my students. This comes as an extra special gift because I will have my own classroom next year. What better way to start a new year in a new classroom with new art supplies. I am so grateful. Thanks again. I depend on donors choose to help me get the supplies I need for my students to have a well rounded and enjoyable art program. So often the arts are forgotten in schools and monies are not provided for supplies. Your kindness and generousity make it possible for students like mine to experience the joy of creating. Most of my students or their families are immigrants from the West Indies, the Caribbean, South America, India, and Yemen. They come to this country with high expectations for a good education. Most of my students are smart, determined, respectful, and have a love of learning. I also take pride in the fact that art is one of their favorite subjects, and I can bring it to grades 6-8 once a week. I have so much to teach them, and they are always ready to learn, donations from people like you help to enrich their programs, and foster their creativity. Even the students who don't speak English yet, communicate through their art. Art is the universal language, and with your help I can have so many more resources to teach it with.
