My students will learn to love to read if they can do it comfortably. Reading at a desk only inspires a student to read what is necessary and not to dive in to a book! Being comfortable makes all the difference for kids who like reading but do not like reading at their desks. I learned to read in a classroom where my teacher provided a wonderful reading area, and we were allowed to be comfortable as we read our books. This turned me into an avid reader, and now I read 4 to 5 novels a week. I want the same for my students. I want them to be able to get so involved in a book that they always want to read! We need bean bag chairs and a rug to create a comfortable reading area.
